A load that has been fastened in or attached to the vehicle with tarps, ropes, winch straps, netting, or chains, so as to prevent any portion of the load or the covering from becoming loose, detached, or leaving the vehicle or trailer while the vehicle or trailer is moving.
Secure document shredding is available at the Portage County Solid Waste Facility. A limit of three bank-sized boxes may be brought at one time. There is a $5.25 per box fee.
Motor oil and antifreeze are free to dispose of, but must be in containers 2.5 gallons or less with a closed cap. If you wish to have your container emptied and returned please call 715-346-1931 to make an appointment.

Hazardous Materials are accepted by appointment only. Call 715-346-1931. This includes items such as poisons (pesticides and herbicides), cleaners, paints, chemicals, gas, and aerosols. The program operates from March through November. Fees apply.
$20 minimum charge for any load of 560 lbs. or less. Loads weighing more than 560 lbs. are subject to our standard rate of $71.35 per ton.
Asbestos, medical waste (i.e. needles, medication), items with radioactive materials (smoke alarms and exit signs), fire extinguishers, or yard waste (lawn clippings, leaves, branches less than 6 inches in diameter, etc.)
