Portage County Division of Public Health works with individuals, families, and community organizations through a variety of programs and services to promote public health. Public health is the science of protecting and improving the health of individuals, families, and communities through the promotion of healthy lifestyles, research of disease and injury prevention, and detection and control of infectious diseases. Public health is everywhere in a community.
